Am i the only vegetarian who thinks this?
Well I am anti-fur and everything and against animal cruelty but, i feel animal testing completely acceptable for medical experimentation only. I mean they need that stuff to save peoples life and to me its sort of like one for a million. I don't feel that it is right for make up and cosmetic companies to though. and that is why i could never go vegan. What do you feel about it.
No you are not te only one. I agree with you on one level , that vanity products (make upo, shampoo etc) do not need to be tested on animals. Unfortunately, the legal system is such that people can sue for just about anything and the companies try to make sure that their products are safe. Animal testing is part of the lawsuit avoidance measure.
Animal testing for medical purposes is not done once but on a progressive basis. It starts on the cellular level, then progresses to bigger animals until it is eventually tested on paid human volunteers. So it not accurate to say that it will not benefit humans because it was tested on rats. Just ask the millions and millions of users of animal tested medicines if they benefited or not.
