Cruelty Free Wine
Wine tasting party. What should I prepare?

I'm going to host a wine tasting party in a couple of weeks and I need some ideas for what to serve. My friends are actually going to bring their fave wines, so I won't know specifically what types of reds or whites they're bringing. I just need some munchy/finger food ideas that pair well with each broad category.
I'm keeping it all vegan, so what could I offer (besides fruit and hummus with crackers - lol)?

BTW: I'm pretty well-versed in the kitchen, so I want to make quite a few of the dishes as opposed to buying them.
IF this is truly a wine-tasting party and not just an excuse to get together and drink wine (I, for one, don't need an excuse 
) then you should serve BLAND food so that the flavor of the wine is what stands out.
Bread to cleanse the palate between wine is all you need.
If you need to feed people in addition then you can serve whatever you like after the tasting.
Apples and grapes do NOT go well with wine. Use pears and berries instead. Olives that are brined are also a no-no.
Vegan Cheese and crackers, a lentil pate that doesn't have too much garlic in it would go with most reds.
Big wines, like cabs can be paired with garlicky food like your hummus.
