Opinions on cruelty free dairy products.?

I am currently vegan, strictly for the cruelty free aspect. (The healths benefits are just an added bonus!) Im looking for thoughts on using dairy products from small, humane, family run farms. I visited one beautiful farm that treat their animals like pets. They only hand milk and totally free organic grazing. I do love cheese (w/o rennet!) and wouldnt mind having it in my diet. From an animal rights viewpoint whats your opinion on this?
I am vegan. The farm I visited is not a "dairy farm" It is a very small family farm with only a few cows & bulls and they are only naturally impregnated and milked. I saw nothing inhumane about it, it was all very natural and lovely. I guess the question is, do you think the cows, chickens, etc. mind sharing? If you had your own farm and could monitor everything, would you use milk and eggs?

Even the best and most humane dairy farms take the calves off of milk, separating them from their mothers so that they can harvest the milk that was supposed to feed the baby. That separation is devastating to both the calf and the mother.

And I have yet to find a dairy that doesn't sell most of the male calves for veal. No matter how well they treat the rest of the cattle, that is a basic deal breaker for me. Its actually what caused me to stop eating dairy not to long ago. I stopped eating all factory farmed dairy, and realized it would take a lot of research before I found something that fit my ethics. I have yet to find a local dairy farmer (even ones that are Animal Welfare Approved, which is the highest humane certification available) that doesn't have to do things they'd rather not do. They grieve when they send off the male calves to slaughter, but they couldn't stay afloat otherwise.

So I abstain until it can be done in a way that meets my comfort level. I might be waiting until I have my own cows...and by then, I might not even want it anymore
